Meet Kate

KATE SWYERS (she/her) | Counseling Intern

We’re a good fit if... You are experiencing feelings of grief, a loss of meaning, or working through life changes. You might also feel lost and struggling with wounds from your past.

My ideal client is... Someone who is willing to be open and collaboratively explore their thoughts and feelings. You might also be curious and open to using creative, artistic ways to express yourself. In addition, while I have more experience working with older women, I love to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.

I create safety and build rapport by... Making the therapeutic space as welcoming and inclusive as I can. I believe that every person is deserving of feeling heard and understood, and that is done by creating an environment where you can feel safe to express yourself without shame or fear of judgment. It is my hope that through this process, and honoring all parts of what it means to be human, you leave feeling empowered to live authentically.

Three things I love: Snuggling up with hot chocolate while playing cozy video games, being creative in a plethora of different ways such as printmaking, writing music and poetry, and spending time with my partner and our two pets, Soma & Edgar.
